
Four people were found burned after an explosion at a gas pipeline in Kelimeneşti, and five more victims were taken to the hospital for medical treatment, the Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) of Vranca reported.
“On the night from Wednesday to Thursday, we were asked to intervene after an explosion followed by a fire at the Autostrazii Moldovai construction site near the city of Kelimenesti. Five people were injured as a result of the incident. Unfortunately, four burnt victims were found at the scene,” said ISU Vranca spokesman Florin Olaru.
According to him, the victims were taken to the emergency department of Ajuda Municipal Hospital, two of them who received burns will be taken to two medical units of the capital.
During the fire, both the deceased and the injured were performing construction work at the construction site of the Moldova highway.
The red intervention plan was activated on the night from Wednesday to Thursday, at 01:30, after the explosion on the gas pipeline from Kelimeneşti. After about three hours, the fire was extinguished, and the cooling of the cars affected by the fire continued.
Six water and foam fire extinguishers, four SMURD ambulances, an ISU Vranca MHC and five ambulances from the Vranca County Ambulance Service.
