Russia carried out a combined missile and drone attack on Ukraine on Sunday morning, mainly in the southern regions of Odesa region and hitting an agricultural facility, the Air Force of Ukraine reported, reports Reuters.

Russia launched six Iranian-made Shahed drones and 10 cruise missiles, while Ukrainian forces destroyed six drones and six missiles before they hit their targets, the Air Force said.

The situation in Odesa and its ports is being closely watched by grain markets as Kyiv said on Saturday that two cargo ships had arrived there to use the temporary corridor to sail to Black Sea ports and load grain for markets in Africa and Asia.

“To repulse the air attack, fighters, anti-aircraft missile units, mobile groups and other strike equipment were involved,” the Air Force reported.

At press time, the extent of the damage was unknown, and it was not clear which facility was affected. The BBC only reported that emergency services were on the scene.

Reuters said it could not independently verify the information, and Russia has not yet made a statement on the matter.

For several hours, the entire territory of Ukraine was on alert.

Last month, Ukraine announced a “humanitarian corridor” in the Black Sea to allow ships stuck in its ports since the start of the war to pass through and bypass the de facto blockade after Russia scrapped a deal that allowed Kiev to export grain.
