The lawyer for the partners of the company that owned the gas station in Crevedia, Florin Cojocaru, said on Tuesday evening that none of his clients made statements during the hearing because they had no information in the case file. He clarified that the residents of Krevedia, who were affected by the explosions, will receive compensation, News.ro reports.

“No one from the prosecutor’s office called us, no one from the criminal investigation called us, we waited downstairs. When we got off, the runners called us to ask if we were going to the prosecutor’s office. We all checked cell phones and we had no missed calls from the DA, no subpoena emails. This extraordinary scenario was needed, which was involved in such a way that instead of a simple phone call, we had to find out the last ones, after we were picked up from the street,” accused lawyer Florin Kojokaru on Tuesday evening after the arrest of his clients.

He noted that residents of Krevedia, who suffered from the explosions, will receive compensation.

“A message also to the people of Crevedia: despite these circumstances and circumstances, our commitment remains and the affected people of Crevedia should know that we continue, with the same desire, to restore all their losses,” he added. .

The lawyer emphasized that work was being carried out on this material without the party knowing any details.

“On my instructions, he will not make a statement. This is not a reasoned mandate, but it can be done this way. (…) the defense strategy can change from minute to minute. I learned how important the press is. The entire state was mobilized in all forms and with all resources for 10 days, and we, the defenders, did not know any detail of the file, because until today we did not have the capacity and could not participate in any action, under the conditions in which in states were reserved and allocated such resources, for 10 days, during which they worked very intensively on various segments. How could I, as a lawyer, testify today? (…) Obviously, until I wonder what God is doing in the whole file and in all these procedures, I first avoid pre-set scenarios,” he added.

Florin Cojocaru said that, from his point of view, his clients have the status of suspects, but the prosecutor’s office says that they are accused.

“In my opinion, they are suspects and, as I read in the press release that the prosecutor’s office sent to the media and everyone except me, they should be charged. And the company that they represent, I understand that it also has the potential… (…) I did not make statements today because we also need to have a minimum of information from this file. These are the statements that are publicly assumed that everything is being processed,” added the defender.

On Tuesday, the General Prosecutor’s Office heard the shareholders of the company that owned the gas station in Krevedia. The prosecutor’s office decided to detain him for 24 hours under the article of willful destruction that caused the disaster. The company “systematically acted, repeatedly violating the provisions of the law.”
