Mercedes-Benz presented a concept called the CLA at the Munich Motor Show, which opens a new class of cars in the German brand’s lineup. The new CLA will be introduced in 2025, followed by other compact electric models, including two SUVs.

The new CLA will be the first of four models built on the so-called Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA), the platform by which Mercedes will make the transition to electrification. This flexible platform will also allow the creation of gasoline and hybrid models on the same assembly line. And the future CLA, which will be released in 2025, will also have versions with an internal combustion engine.

The new CLA is the first model released on this architecture, followed by a station wagon and two SUVs.

Mercedes claims that the new CLA will be one of the most efficient electric cars ever made, with a range of over 750km, consumption of 12kWh/100km and fast charging for a range of 400km. km of autonomy in 15 minutes.

Mercedes also insists on the concept’s design, which it says “conveys athletic power.”

The chassis comes from the one that was presented earlier on the concept called EQXX, the autonomy of which can exceed 1000 km.

Mercedes chief Ole Callenius said the average selling price of the brand’s models had risen 43 percent over the past four years to 73,000 euros per car.
