In a video shared by the Ukrainian military on social networks, it can be seen that more than half of the Leopard 2A4 tanks they received from partner states are ready to go into battle, Forbes reports.
Forbes counted about 30 Leopard 2A4 tanks on staff, noting that by the beginning of July, the Ukrainian army will receive 50 such heavy combat vehicles.

Poland, Germany, Canada, Denmark, Norway and Spain are among the countries that have provided or promised Ukraine Leopard2A4 tanks. In total, Ukraine’s partners promised it more than 90 such tanks.
The 2A4 is the most common model of this German tank, which was produced in several batches between 1985 and 1992. Among the upgrades of the old variants were the inclusion of an automated firing system, a fully digital fire control system, an improved turret, titanium and tungsten alloy armor, as well as the ability to use new types of ammunition.
All previous versions of Leopard 2 tanks were upgraded to this standard.
The Oryx website, which independently monitors the losses of both armies fighting in Ukraine, notes that the Kiev forces lost 7 tanks of this type, of which two were destroyed, and another 5 were damaged. Forbes also notes that most of the damaged ones have probably already arrived at the Leopard 2 tank repair center opened in Poland.
It was finally inaugurated on July 23, although earlier that month there were reports in the German press that the government led by Chancellor Olaf Scholz intended to terminate the contract agreed with Warsaw for the operation of the center.

Ukraine also received 21 Leopard 2A6 tanks. Although not a significant advantage over the 2A4, improvements to this version include the addition of the 120 mm L/55 Rheinmetall smoothbore gun. All German tank battalions of the “Crisis Intervention Force” are equipped with the A6.
According to Oryx, the Ukrainian army lost 9 Leopard 2A6 tanks it received, but only 3 of them were destroyed and none were captured. By comparison, the Russian military has lost a third of its most advanced T-90M tanks in service, including tanks destroyed, damaged and captured by the Ukrainians.
As for the video that the Ukrainian military shared on social networks, they took care to shoot it in such a way as not to capture elements that would allow geolocating the image, for obvious reasons. By the way, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine also distributed the recording on its page Twittersocial media platform now known as “X”.
“Leopard conservation law. The number of destroyed “Leopards” in the daily updates of the Ministry of Defense of Russia in no way correlates with the number of “Leopard 2A4″ tanks in the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the State Department of the Ministry of Defense in Kyiv notes with images.
It also said the images were taken by the 33rd Mechanized Brigade, which has been supporting the operations of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade in recent weeks. He participated in the battles around the city of Robotyne, in the direction of which the final goal is the city of Melitopol in the south of Ukraine.
“The 33rd Mechanized Brigade is intact and apparently ready to redeploy its tanks for a counterattack,” Forbes concluded after this video surfaced.
