The second explosion – much stronger than the first – occurred on Saturday evening in Crevedia, at the liquefied gas station, where numerous fire brigades were already trying to extinguish the fire that started as a result of the first deflagration. The Euronews Romania team was close to the site of the powerful explosion and captured the moment on camera.
Unedited images released by Euronews Romania show the exact moment of the explosion from a short distance away and the panic that immediately followed, during which the entire area was completely lit up by rising flames.
After this powerful deflagration, at least 26 firefighters required medical attention for facial burns. Only one of them had to be intubated on the spot.
