Five surgeons from the district emergency hospital in Tirgu Jiu have announced that they will resign from September, citing a lack of support from the management of the medical department of a doctor who operated on a hernia on a woman who was actually nine months pregnant . At the same time, they complain about the inappropriate conditions in which surgical activities are carried out in the hospital.

As GorjExpress.ro reports, the head of the surgery department, Claudio Soare, will completely waive security, and surgeons Valentyn Nyagu, Konstantin Barbu, Sorin Stanilou and Adrian Ciprian Shteri will provide only mandatory security.

They refer to the lack of support from the management of the medical department of doctor Konstantin Barbu, who operated on a woman with a diagnosis of “hernia” in the ninth month of pregnancy.

At the same time, they note that emergency surgery is performed in inappropriate conditions, with long waiting times for imaging studies and analyses, that the operating theaters lack qualified personnel, and sometimes they refuse consultations. some patients are in ATI and they no longer want to take responsibility.

Doctors also refer to the “media lynching” they can be subjected to, “even when the patient is not harmed, on the contrary, he is happy with how he was treated, but guilty.”

The woman, who was actually nine months pregnant, was diagnosed with a hernia at Tirgu-Zhiu Hospital and underwent an operation. A 35-year-old woman, who did not know about her pregnancy and went to the hospital complaining of abdominal pain, gave birth to a girl. The representatives of the hospital reported that the event was real and the operation was necessary, but the woman also stated that she was not pregnant and was being treated with contraceptives.

The woman notes that she also did not know about the pregnancy, because at that time she was taking birth control pills and was having her period. She says she was shocked when she woke up after the operation to find out she had given birth to a girl. “I said no, I have two little girls, I didn’t understand that… he said I gave birth to a little girl. I was shocked, amazed, how could I have a little girl because I kept saying I had two, I didn’t understand. I have two twin girls at home,” she explains. (News.ro)
