Konstantin Beletanu-Stolnichi died on August 20 at the age of 100. An honorary member of the Romanian Academy of Beletanu-Stolnici, he was a neuropathologist by profession, worked as a professor of neuropsychology and anatomy of the nervous system. For almost three decades, he held the position of head of the department at the Ana Aslan Institute.

In 2007, revelations appeared in the press that related to the cooperation of Beletanu-Stolnici with the Securitate, his relations with the repressive system in communist Romania coincided with the period when he headed the institute. It was reported that Beletanu-Stolnici signed his informative notes with the code name “Laurentiu” and that they referred not only to his patients, but also to personalities such as Ion Ratsiu or King Mihai.
