Ion Cyriac is passionate about hunting, a passion he owes to Ion Gheorghe Maurer, former prime minister of communist Romania in the 1960s. In the 2000s, every year at the beginning of January, Ion Cyriak organized the famous Balk boar hunt, to which influential businessmen and politicians from all over Europe were invited.

Chiriac also owns a large collection of hunting weapons, but some of them are at risk of confiscation by the authorities. On March 28, 2023, a “special confiscation” case was registered in the 2nd district court, according to the data that FANATIK reviewed on the court portal. The defendant, that is, the person being summoned to court, is Ion Cyriak, and the plaintiff is the Prosecutor’s Office of the 2nd District Court.
