
At least 12 people died and 50 others were injured in an explosion at a gas station in Makhachikala, the capital of the autonomous republic of Dagestan, Ria reports.

“According to preliminary data as of this hour: 12 people died, two of them – children, 50 people were injured as a result of an explosion at a gas station in Makhachikala,” the Ministry of Health of Dagestan reported on the Telegram channel.
More than 70 people and 20 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
The Ministry of Emergencies of Russia also reported that the area of the fire was 500 square meters, the fire spread from the car service to the gas station. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan reported that only two of the eight tanks exploded at a car service in Makhachikal, with a high risk of further explosions and fires.
