President Klaus Iohannis reacted to the fact that Russian forces bombed the Odesa region again, and missiles and drones allegedly hit the ports of Reni and Izmail, located on the Danube near the border with Romania. “This recent escalation poses serious security risks in the Black Sea,” says Johannis.

  • “I strongly condemn Russia’s recent attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure on the Danube, very close to Romania.
  • This recent escalation poses serious security risks in the Black Sea.
  • It also additionally affects the transit of Ukrainian grain and, therefore, global food security,” Yohannis wrote on Twitter.

Russia would attack the Ukrainian port of Reni, located on the Danube, on the border with Romania, just a few kilometers from Galati. Images on social media showed a series of explosions at the port of Reni, as well as anti-aircraft guns firing at kamikaze drones. The Russians also attacked the Ukrainian port of Izmail: 6 people were injured.
