Jonas Wingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) topped the general classification of the Tour de France 2023 after a decisive performance on stage 16, the individual time trial between Passy and Combloux (22.4 kilometers). The podium was completed by Tadej Pohakar and Wout van Aert.

Just 10 seconds separated Wingegard and Pogacar before Tuesday’s stage, but the Dane edged his Slovenian rival by one minute and 38 seconds and the reigning champion is likely to retain the yellow jersey for the rest of the year.
