On the A10, just after the junction with Alba Iulia Nord, also in the area of ​​the hill, where even now the Italian builder Impresa Pizzarotti is working to fix some surprises, the ground started to carry it down.

There is a retaining wall in the area where the ground started to come down, built by the contractor specifically to stabilize the hill and protect in the event of such an emergency, but it is not clear whether this structure will hold up even then.

In that area, traffic is still restricted and there is only one lane in each direction.

They installed inclinometers on the hill: The slope leads down

The Unriea newspaper writes that inclinometers were installed on the hill to monitor the movement of the slope, and they would indicate the movement of the slope.

Representatives of DRDP Cluj confirmed to ziarulunirea.ro that inclinometers have been installed to monitor the movement of the slope, and a technical solution will be established after an examination. All work will be carried out at the expense of the contractor, since this section of the highway is under warranty.

DRDP Cluj ensures that only current maintenance work is carried out, and the resulting deterioration will be remedied by the Contractor based on the provisions of the design and execution contract. Inclinometers were installed to control the movement of the slope. The technical solution will be established by an authorized technical expert,” DRDP Cluj representatives sent.

In May, due to a new crack in the asphalt and on the slope, workers began partial dismantling on the section of the A10 Sebeş-Turda highway in the Alba Iulia Nord district, just a few meters from where the body of the highway had just been rebuilt from scratch a few tens of meters after how the road was affected by the landslide.

Ziarulunirea.ro wrote that “on the hill from Pârâul Iovului, the A10 Sebeș-Turda highway looks like in the story of the craftsman Manole. Work on the landslide from Alba-Iulia-Nord has just been completed, and a new crack has appeared in both the asphalt and the backfill, approximately 50 meters in the direction of Turda, in the same direction.”

Motorway opened before election, unfinished work and delays for four years

The section in question was being built by the Italian developer Impresa Pizzarotti, and then the work was delayed for four years. The site was inaugurated in December 2020, just a few days before the parliamentary elections and before the completion of all works.

In fact, the work on the Alba-Iulia-Nord junction, on the section where there are problems now, was completed only in the summer of 2021.
