
Police officers from Ilfov opened criminal proceedings after inspections at the National Institute of Forestry Development and Research in Voluntara regarding the method of storage and handling of weapons and ammunition. More than a thousand cartridges were found in the headquarters of the institution.
According to the Romanian police, on Thursday, the Ilfov Police Service for Weapons, Explosives and Dangerous Substances carried out inspections at the agency’s headquarters in the city of Voluntari regarding the way weapons and ammunition are stored and handled.
In the room, the police found 1283 cartridges, of which 391 hunting cartridges with Alice (caliber 12), 189 hunting cartridges with Alice (caliber 16), 635 hunting cartridges with a bullet (caliber 6.5×57) and 68 hunting cartridges with bullets (caliber 3×57R).
The discovered ammunition was seized, and police officers of the Ilfiv Service for the Protection of Weapons, Explosives and Dangerous Substances opened criminal proceedings for non-compliance with the regime of storage of weapons and ammunition.
According to some judicial sources, it is about the National Research Institute of Forestry Development.
