Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the presidential administration in Kyiv, in a televised speech on Thursday, disclosed three scenarios that the Ukrainian leadership is considering for ending the war started by Russia, the UNIAN agency reports, citing Agerpres.
“There are only three scenarios for ending the war. First: we will win and then there will be a state of Ukraine that will dominate the region as a whole, and therefore will have clearly established partnership relations. Then it will be able to modernize its armed forces and have a combat-ready army,” he said.
In parallel with this, according to Podoliak, a demilitarized zone will be created with the Russian Federation, which will be deprived of missiles of a certain range, and later a summit will be organized on the topic of control over Russia’s nuclear arsenals.
The second scenario is that Ukraine loses, and then Ukraine “gradually dies” for several years, said an adviser to the Kyiv administration.
“There is also a third, middle scenario: we don’t lose, but there is a line of demarcation – Minsk-3 (like those that were intended for peace in Donbas – 2014 and 2015). This means that you will die very slowly. You will be connected to devices that will save your life,” said Podolyak, addressing his fellow citizens.
In this case, in his opinion, Ukraine as a state will cease to exist.
“That’s why everything else is an attempt to find some alternative elements that will allow something to continue somewhere… You and I have very simple options – win or lose,” Podolyak said in the same message sent a day after the NATO summit in Vilnius. , where Ukraine was promised new weapons and support from the West.
Zelensky returned from Vilnius with new Western weapons for the Ukrainian army
Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that Ukraine’s victory in this war would mean the return of all territories occupied by Russia, the release of all Ukrainians who are in Russian captivity, the return home of all children kidnapped by Russia, the return of Ukrainians from abroad, and the execution of the Russian Federation for crimes committed in Ukraine.
A spokesman for the Ukrainian forces operating in the Tavria region in southern Ukraine, Valery Sherseni, said on Thursday that the Ukrainian army is continuing to advance south. Ukrainian troops managed to achieve partial success in the offensive in the direction of Berdyansk.
The Russian occupiers are putting up serious resistance, he says.
Returning from Vilnius to Kyiv, Volodymyr Zelenskyi told Ukrainians that Western allies will provide Kyiv with military support as long as it is necessary. However, according to him, everything will depend on the situation on the battlefield, the Glavred portal reports.
The American Institute for the Study of War believes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue their offensive in the areas of Bakhmut (east), Melitopol and Berdyansk (south). They managed to achieve certain successes in certain areas of the front.
Russian military bloggers also wrote about the advance of Ukrainian troops, reported the quoted mass media.
