The fire engulfed the roof of the building of the Cafe Pushkin and Turandot restaurants in the center of Moscow, local emergency services reported, News.ro reported with reference to the Russian news agency TASS.

“The house at number 26 on Tversky Boulevard caught fire in the center. “Pushkin” and “Turandot” restaurants are located in it, the source of the official Russian news agency said.

The restaurant was evacuated, an official told the agency by phone.

“People ran out into the street (…). There are more than 100 people in the building,” he said.

Firefighters extinguished the fire in the open air, on the building, reports the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia.

“At 18:15 local time, a report was received about a fire in building 26 on Tversky Boulevard. An open fire broke out on the roof of a three-story administrative building. With the measures taken, burning in the open sky, on the roof, was eliminated,” the department reports.

The State Emergency Service also reported that the fire on the roof was extinguished.

“The fire was completely extinguished. There are no casualties,” the source said.

The section of Tversky Boulevard from Nikitskaya Square to Tverskaya Street has been closed due to the fire, the Moscow Department of Transport reports in Telegram.

“The traffic on Tversky Boulevard from Nikitska Square to Tverska Street is blocked,” the message says.
