Janis Hagi is preparing for the new season and the Romanian player hopes to get even more minutes next year. However, it is currently unknown whether Hagi Jr will continue in Scotland, given the fact that the team are considering selling him to another club.
Ioannis Hagi is likely to leave Rangers this summer
Returning from half of the recently completed season, more than a year after suffering a major injury, Janis Hagi hasn’t gotten many minutes with the Rangers.
The Romanian midfielder was called up by coach Edi Iordenescu for the national team’s matches with Kosovo (0:0) and Switzerland (2:2), but he did not stand out in any of the two games.
According to the Scottish press, the footballer, who is valued at €4 million, has a good chance of leaving Rangers this summer, although he has signed a contract with the Ibrox side in December 2022.
“Janis Hagi also needs a new challenge. It was a big mistake for Rangers to offer him a 2-year contract extension in December when he was miles away from a complete rebuild.” – writes the publication Ibrox Noise.
Since arriving at Rangers, Janis Hagi has made 96 appearances for the team, scoring 16 goals and providing 21 assists.
Celta Vigo were interested in the Romanian at the end of the season and the Spaniards’ interest could increase if Gabry Veiga eventually leaves La Liga this summer.
