Carlos Alcaraz intends to win the Wimbledon tournament
The 20-year-old Spaniard is a quick learner from the experience he is gathering at a hectic pace driven by his early success, writes Mundo Deportivo.
Alcaraz has been dealing with an injury to his right leg since the spasms he suffered in his match against Novak Djokovic at Roland Garros.
A week ago, the world leader won the first grass court title of his career at the ATP tournament in London, defeating Australian Alex de Minaur in the final.
During the match, Carlos sought help from a physiotherapist after experiencing pain, but managed to finish well in the final.
Before his debut at Wimbledon, the Spaniard trained with a bandage, and at the press conference he talked about the injury.
“At the moment physically I feel very good, I am ready to start at Wimbledon. I don’t feel pain anymore. I worked all week to not feel the pain like in London,” he said.
Carlos Alcaraz will make his Wimbledon debut on Tuesday, July 4, against Frenchman Jeremy Chardy (534 ATP).
