The second set started very differently, Townsend managed to win four more games in a row, but the Romanian was unable to create any problems.
Also on Tuesday, Gabriela Ruse advanced to the semifinals of Wimbledon qualifying, beating Isabel Lacey 7-5, 6-2.
Wimbledon 2023 will be held from July 3 to 16 at the London All England Club complex.
