Prime Minister Marcel Čolaku announced on Wednesday that the government is preparing a state aid scheme for the construction materials industry. “We are supporting domestic production to make sure that we have constant raw materials at fair prices for the construction of the highways and all the other big projects going on,” Cholaku said.
- “At the moment, Romania imports half of the raw materials used for public purposes. It is obvious that we have to look for some solutions, especially since these building materials reach the builders after 3-6 months. With this event, we are also talking about the pace of investment in Romania.
- Tomorrow, I will be holding a meeting with other ministers with key players in the industry.
- We will see if they will make changes or additions to this order, and next week it will be adopted at the government meeting,” said Prime Minister Çolaku at the beginning of the government meeting.
Government sources said on Wednesday that the allocated amount would be 150 million euros from the state budget.
