
Deloitte Romania opens registration for the 24th edition of the Technology Fast 50 Central Europe competition, addressed to all local technology companies, public or private, regardless of size, experiencing accelerated growth. The competition is held simultaneously in 18 countries of Central Europe, namely in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia and offers both mature and emerging companies a platform through which they can assert their leadership position in their field of activity.
The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Central Europe is a program that highlights the region’s 50 most dynamic technology companies based on percentage revenue growth over the past four years (2019-2022) and includes companies from all related sectors – communications, environmental technology, fintech, hardware, health and medical sciences, media and entertainment, software.
To qualify for the Fast 50 Central Europe list, companies must meet several financial criteria. Thus, they must have an annual operating income of at least €50,000 in the first three years (2019-2021) and at least €100,000 in 2022, be headquartered in a Central European country and develop or produce patented technologies or possess intellectual property rights to them.

Since 2008, more than 40 local startups have been included in the Fast 50 ranking, either among the companies with the highest growth in Central Europe or in special categories such as “Most revolutionary innovation” or “Star of influence”. Among them are UiPatha world leader in the automation of robotic processes, a company awarded in 2017 with the “Most Revolutionary Innovation” award, as well as a travel agency Vola.roawarded the “Highest Growth in Central Europe” in 2011 and has been in the leading position for the following two years in a row.

In addition, three Romanian companies – Hermix, Kinderpedia and Tokinomo – were recognized in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 competition from Central Europe in the category “Striking Stars”.
Apart from the category “Fast 50”,The competition includes the category “Companies to watch“, which marks recently created startups that do not yet meet the criteria of the main Fast 50 ranking. They must be active for at least three years (founded before December 31, 2019) and have an operating income of at least 10,000 euros in the first year of operation (2020) and at least 30,000 euros in the last year (2022). The competition also includes special recognition, “Striking Stars”which rewards companies whose products or services have a positive impact on society, the environment, diversity or innovation.
Google Cloud is the regional technological partner of the competition for the third year in a row. Special recognition by Google Cloud and Deloitte, “WHAT A TECHNICAL ROCKET MAN!”, is included in the program. The joint teams of Google Cloud and Deloitte will evaluate the technological solutions of startups and reward those with the greatest business potential. To be eligible for the CE Tech Rocketship! category, companies must develop solutions that can be implemented on a large scale and be based in Central Europe. The winners of this category will be selected from among all companies participating in the Technology Fast 50 Central Europe competition in 2023.

The registration period ends on August 31, 2023. The results of the competition will be announced in November 2023.
