They accuse Reed of consuming alcohol and marijuana the night of the shoot.

In response, her attorney said prosecutors mishandled the case and decided to pursue charges that would tarnish Reid’s image.

The gunsmith’s lawyers filed a petition to have her charged with involuntary manslaughter dismissed. In response to this request, the prosecutor’s office filed new charges.

On October 21, 2021, Alec Baldwin, 65, pointed a Colt .45 pistol at Galina Hutchins during a rehearsal, but the gun went off, killing the cameraman and injuring director Joel Souza.

The actor was charged with involuntary manslaughter, but the charges were dropped in April. Filming resumed later that month.

In late March, assistant director Dave Halls was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to negligent use of a deadly weapon. Prosecutors said he was responsible for ensuring security on the set.
