
Two foreigners, aged 24 and 29, were arrested in Keratsini for selling smuggled cigarettes.
As part of the police operation, 2,602 contraband tobacco products were seized.
Two detainees were detained on their own initiative outside their place of residence for transporting contraband tobacco products for the purpose of further circulation.
In the ensuing investigation, 2,378 packs of cigarettes, 224 packs of tobacco, a fake driver’s license, an amount of 495 euros, three mobile phones and two laptops were found and confiscated.
Two persons who do not have documents legalizing residence in our country are accused of an extended violation of the National Customs Code and of forgery of documents.
According to EL.AS. two of those arrested were smuggling tobacco products in open public markets in the Piraeus region.
