Images are circulating on social media of what appears to be a Russian-made armored personnel carrier crossing a river in Ukraine, with two fish jumping through it, one even entering the hatch of the car.

Footage taken from an armored personnel carrier, as well as from a drone, shows the moment when two fish jump over the BMP-1i while crossing a river in Ukraine, and one of them is “caught” by the car’s hatch.

The Russian-made BMP-1 transporter, which is used in the Ukrainian operation, has the ability to cross short bodies of water at a depth of up to 10 meters at a speed of about 10 km/h, National News reports.

Two fish appear to be spooked by the nearly 20-tonne armored car as it moves through the river before one of them lands directly in the car’s hatch.

In one video, a Ukrainian military man holds the “catch” in his hand, and in another video it is assumed that the fish ended up on the table of those who caught it unwittingly.

Very few models of armored vehicles can safely cross rivers. Both camps lost such equipment trying to “swim” in the water.
