
The Property Rights Division of the Attica Security Authority has uncovered an organized criminal activity of forging sports award certificates for the benefit of candidates in Panhellenic exams, as well as improving the level of training.
The case was prosecuted against five Greeks aged 47, 49, 39, 48 and 53, as the case may be, for forgery after use, forgery of a false identity as an accomplice, committed both in an attempt and as a consequence.
They falsified match sheets
After a long and thorough investigation by the above-mentioned agency, it turned out that the first three defendants, using their position in the field of martial arts, turned to parents whose underage children attended the respective schools and promised them this for a monetary reward (from 3,500 to 7,000 euros) 47-year-old football player will start training falsified match sheets that would falsely list minors in the privileged rankings.
Subsequently, the Federation issued appropriate certificates, which parents had to obtain and then submit to the competent authority so that underage athletes could receive useful mobility for the pan-Greek examinations in which they will participate.
As regards the roles played by the defendants, The 47-year-old player, using his responsible position in the Federation, compiled fake match reportsand 49-year-old and 39-year-old, as owners of the coaches school they acted as intermediaries between the parents and the 47-year-old. In addition, two other defendants (aged 48 and 53), parents of a minor student, submitted a false certificate to the competent authority in order to receive preferential points for a minor.
It was established that -18- match reports were falsified, which concern -30- students/athletes and -4- coaches who participated as athletes with the motivation to improve their coaching level.
It is noted that in none of the above cases the intended goal was achieved, since the benefits relate to students participating in the Greek general examinations for the 2022-2023 academic year, which has not yet been completed.
The case file will be handed over to the Athenian Criminal Prosecutor, while investigations into their involvement in other cases are ongoing.
