21 people died and 654 were injured (19 seriously, 635 lightly) in 578. road police accidents and incidents that occurred in May in the Attica region.

According to the Attica Traffic Authority, the main causes of these traffic accidents were inattentive and careful driving, violation of traffic signs and regulations by pedestrians, and non-use of safety helmets by drivers and passengers of two-wheeled vehicles in many cases exacerbated the severity of their injuries.

At the same time, during the same period of time, as part of the targeted actions carried out by the Attica Traffic Authority to control traffic and improve road safety in the Attica region, 19,803 violations were confirmed, of which 844 were misdemeanors.

-156 offenses for running a red light,

-430 violations when using a mobile phone,

-897 violations for not wearing a seat belt,
