Romania is a country where three out of ten people no longer have natural teeth in their mouths, literally. This is three times more than the European average. Paradoxically, dental medicine in Romania is almost entirely provided by the private sector with minimal state involvement.

It so happened that Romanians are Europeans with the most oral health problems. Most people don’t step into the dentist’s office until it’s too late.

Usually when it hurts. Even after receiving help, very few continue treatment or progress to full oral rehabilitation. Not because they are ignorant patients.

For most Romanians, dental services are simply expensive. And the money must be paid on the spot, directly from one’s own pocket, unlike other medical services, where the state provides an alternative.
