Several Jewish groups, politicians and an alliance of civil society groups gathered for a memorial ceremony and protest rally against Roger Waters’ concert in Frankfurt on Sunday night, reports Guardian.
They accuse the co-founder of Pink Floyd of anti-Semitism – a charge he denies.
Waters has also drawn ire for his support of the BDS movement, which calls for boycotts and sanctions against Israel.
Initially, the Frankfurt authorities tried to prevent the concert from taking place, but Waters successfully challenged this move in a local court.
The concert takes place at the Festhalle arena in Frankfurt, where over 3,000 Jews were arrested, beaten and abused by the Nazis in November 1938 and later deported to concentration camps.
German police announced on Friday that they are investigating a case against British entertainer Roger Waters for inciting hatred after he wore a Nazi uniform to a concert in the German capital.
