A 17-year-old student of the 2nd Lyceum EPAL Oropou is accused of shooting his 36-year-old teacher with an air pistol during recess yesterday, Friday, May 26.
In particular, according to APE-MPE information from ELAS sources, the defendant had just met his teacher in the school yard, during the first break he suddenly took out an air pistol and shot him in the left leg.
The professor, who was slightly injured, then went alone to Oropu’s security department and reported the incident, and immediately afterwards, the 17-year-old was arrested. His parents, both aged 51, were also arrested for failing to look after a minor.
The student was taken to the prosecutor’s office today on charges of illegal possession of a weapon and causing dangerous bodily harm.
