‘How to have sex’: film shot in Mali wins Cannes award

Filmed in Mali, How to Have Sex has just won first prize in the important A Certain Look section at the Cannes Film Festival. The film has a Greek co-producer Heretic and an almost entirely Greek crew.

The theme of the film is love in its wildest, youthful version.

Three girls from England come for days of endless drinking, crazy dancing and sex. But while everything goes according to… plan, one of them will have an unpleasant experience that will mark her vacation.

In his debut, British director and screenwriter Molly Manning Walker creates a film full of freshness and intoxicating bewilderment while talking about the serious problem of consent and the wounds that its absence can leave.
