The 42-year-old Russian was arrested in Evosmos, Thessaloniki, wanted by his country’s prosecutors, to serve a 15-year prison sentence for trying to sell drugs.
As it was established during the check carried out by the police, there was an international warrant for the arrest of Russia in relation to him. He is being taken to the Thessaloniki Prosecutor’s Office of Appeal to start the procedure related to his extradition.
Meanwhile, in Thessaloniki, a 27-year-old Afghan was arrested on a warrant by investigator Serron and is being prosecuted for involvement in an earlier arson incident at Nigrita Prison.
