
The capital city hall has received more than 520 million lei in funding from the National Program for Recovery and Resilience (PNRR), General Mayor Nikushor Dan announced on his Facebook page. The funds will be used for the purchase of 22 trolleybuses, the modernization of the intelligent traffic light system, the modernization of hospitals and the strengthening of seismic buildings.
To date, the capital city hall has received funding for 7 out of 12 projects submitted through the PNRR, with a total value of 186,371,803 lei including VAT. They are aimed at:
- purchase of 22 trolleybuses with a length of 12 m, with zero emissions or batteries, with a minimum autonomy of 20 km – 65,752,680 lei
- purchase of 7 electric minibuses – 10,251,522,75 lei
- expansion and modernization of the intelligent traffic light system (BTMS) – 34,458,900 lei
- creation of the Center for Mobility and City Management – 5,858,013 lei
- energy consolidation and reconstruction of buildings A and B of the Bukur maternity hospital – 42,072,659.43 lei
- implementation of an integrated information system for travelers from public transport stations Integrated ITS Smart & Green Mobility for the Bucharest – Ilfov region – 27,978,027.61 lei
The Bucharest Hospitals and Health Services Authority received approximately 100 million lei for 10 projects, 6 of which are aimed at the development of outpatient medical infrastructure in the hospitals of Cantacuzino, Obregia, Philanthropia, Gomoiu, St. Mary and Babes, 3 projects are aimed at reducing the risk of infectious diseases in hospitals Cantacuzino, Gomoiu and Panait Sîrbu, and the new hospital infrastructure project is aimed at building a children’s psychiatric center at the psychiatric hospital named after Prof. Dr. Alexander Obregia.
The Municipal Authority for Strengthening Buildings at Seismic Risk has received PNRR funds worth more than 235 million lei for the seismic consolidation and energy renovation of 17 buildings that are historical monuments or located in Bucharest’s protected areas.
Another 4 submitted projects are being evaluated for approval of financing for a total amount of 795.8 million lei. They are aimed at:
- purchase of 46 trams with a length of 27 m – the total cost is 452.8 million lei
- purchase of 135 10-meter electric buses, respectively 70 for night routes and 65 for daytime routes – the total cost is 323 million lei.
- purchase of 8 trolleybuses with a length of 12 m or more, with zero emissions or batteries, with a minimum range of 20 km – the total cost is 20 million lei.
