From June 19 to July 28, children aged 6-12 will have the opportunity to spend two creative summer weeks at the Roof, Goudi and Gravas sports centers, in summer camps organized by the Municipality of Athens through the Organization of Culture, Sports. and youth (OPANDA).

Applications for those citizens of Athens who are interested will begin next Monday, May 29th at 10:00 AM, and will be prioritized based on the day and time of valid applications.

The aim of the summer camps is to give boys and girls the opportunity to play sports and have fun. Each activity is designed to encourage and reinforce values ​​such as teamwork, respect, responsibility, and to help children develop self-confidence, learn about proper sportsmanship and understand the basic principles of sport.

“This year we again welcome hundreds of children from the center and districts of Athens to the summer camps of the municipality, making sure that through the creative programs of OPANDA we offer them what they need most at this time in safe and modern sports facilities. A year: free, enjoyable and quality time,” Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis said in a statement.

Summer camps will run from Monday to Friday and from 07:30 to 16:00 during the following periods:

First period: from 06/19/2023 to 06/30/2023 (duration: 10 days)

Second period: from 03/07/2023 to 07/14/2023 (duration: 10 days)

Third period: from 07/17/2023 to 07/28/2023 (duration: 10 days)

Children have the opportunity to engage in various sports, which in each sports center are as follows:

Swimming-Basketball-Tennis-Self-defense-Football-Volleyball-Traditional dances-Educational game.

In all three sports complexes daily – from 13.00 to 16.00 – creative classes and educational activities on indoor areas.

The arrival of children will take place in the presence of a guardian from 07:30 to 08:15. Same as departure, from 13.00 to 16.00 every hour (strictly).

Each sports center will host a total of 220 children per period, with each child being able to participate in any number of periods (from 1 to 3) at each sports center. The equipment fully covers the activities and the five-day summer camp program. The organization also provides participants with medical and insurance coverage.

A prerequisite for submitting applications is the prior creation of an account on the page www.opandacamps.gr, through which applications will also be submitted electronically.

For participation in OPANDA summer camps, citizens or residents of the municipality of Athens have priority until 220 places per season are filled in each sports center, and only if vacancies appear will they be filled by citizens and residents outside the territory. General communication will be via email, and only for those applications that are accepted, relevant instructions will be emailed for the days and times that interested parties must submit the required supporting documents to OPANDA (Academy 50) offices in order to complete registration.

Required registration documents

1. Declaration of the responsible guardian (collected in the registration area).

2. A document certifying the place of residence, where the name of the guardian will be written (DEKO account, mobile or landline phone, rental agreement) or a certificate from the municipality of Athens.

3. A medical certificate from a pediatrician, which will also confirm the dermatological examination.

4. Certificate of marital status.

All supporting documents must be issued within 2023. Supporting documents from government agencies must be submitted in legible photocopies and must be issued within 2023. Otherwise, interested parties must provide original certificates or legally certified photocopies.
