According to a recent decision by the Central Archaeological Council, where supervised pets are allowed, they must be accompanied by the owner on a leash up to 1 meter long or on their knees. Where medium and large dogs are allowed, they must be muzzled at the entrance.
The guardian of the animal must have an animal health book and vaccination certificates, as well as the necessary equipment for the immediate cleaning of the environment from excrement. On the territory of archaeological excavations, special urns for collecting animal excrement will be installed.
In those archaeological sites where it is permitted to place cages or houses for the temporary stay of pet companion animals, these infrastructure facilities must be specified by the competent central authorities in cooperation with animal welfare associations.
Please note that pets are not allowed in the Acropolis.
