
Several explosions rang out at dawn on Thursday in Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine, where the population was asked to stay in shelters, military officials said, according to AFP.
“Debris collapses have been recorded in the Darnytsia district of the capital. Data on victims and destruction are being clarified,” Serhiy Popko, the head of the State Administration of Kyiv, wrote in Telegram, noting that air defense is “working.”
In the Darnytskyi district, a fire broke out at a factory as a result of falling debris, and an explosion was recorded in the Desnyanskyi district, the mayor of the capital Vitaliy Klitschko reported.
“The attack on the capital continues. Do not come out of shelters during an air raid!”, the Telegram message reads.
The military also reported shelling with “cruise missiles” in Vinnytsia region in the center of the country, and local media reported explosions in Khmelnytskyi, about 100 kilometers to the west. An air alert is in effect throughout Ukraine.
