Since early morning, the university student club of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki has been occupied by autonomous groups who demand that food cards not be presented at the entrance to the club and that workers be immediately hired.

In connection with the takeover, the Board of Directors of the Club indicates in a statement that its activities and the possibility of feeding students are completely terminated. At the same time, in response to false statements and in order to restore the truth, he declares, among other things, that he has exhausted all the possibilities of the contracting company to recruit all contract workers, issue and control the ration card is a requirement of the law, and not an option of the administration, and although with the existing contract the Club has the opportunity to feed 7,250 people in Thessaloniki every day, the number of applications for a food card is 4,200 people. In addition, he reports that there has been a delay in the issuance of cards, there has been no rumored reduction in food portions, and students’ interest in issuing cards has decreased while the process of issuing cards has been simplified. Finally, he notes that in previous days there have been acts of vandalism and destruction of the Club’s equipment, and the safety of persons visiting the occupied premises of the Club is at risk.
