
Four people missing after a boat capsized in the Mures River on Sunday evening in the Periam port area were not found during search operations on Monday and divers went to base in the evening, expecting the mission to continue on the surface of the water and at night, inform the representatives of the Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) Timișoara.
At the moment, four missing persons (2 children and 2 adults) have not been found. Starting at 19.00, the diving crews left for the base. Three ISU TIMIŞ search and rescue teams and three more ISU ARAD teams will continue the mission on the surface throughout the night. The search will be resumed tomorrow morning (Tuesday), around 8:00 a.m., with the forces and means of each intervention unit,” the ISU Timiş said, according to Agerpres.
24 Timișoara firefighters took part in the search operations carried out on Monday, with a service car, six first response and command vehicles, a van, nine boats, a SMURD ambulance and a crew of four divers. Fifteen firefighters from Arad with four special first response and command vehicles, four boats and a SMURD crew also participated.
A boat carrying 12 people overturned on Sunday evening in the Mures River in the city of Periam Port. A 3-year-old minor from Semlak, a 29-year-old man from Arad, a 31-year-old man from Nedlak died after the incident, and two children from Nedlak are still being sought.
