Poland is installing a barrier on the border with the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad and a “security perimeter,” Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said during a visit to Bartoszyce, which is 60 kilometers from the enclave, Euronews reports, News.ro reports.
“We are implementing adequate protection measures along the entire border – physical and electronic,” Mateusz Morawiecki said on Saturday.
“This is what is called a perimeter. We are developing this perimeter,” he emphasized.
“We will also increase the presence of border guards and all services. This presence is already consolidated, but we will continue this process,” he said.

The Polish press writes that the mysterious fragments of a “military object” discovered in a forest near the city of Bydgoszcz, located about 200 kilometers from Bartoszyce, come from tests of air defense systems conducted by Poland.

But the discovery fuels fears that the “object” in question could have been released from abroad, despite the fact that it was found in an area hundreds of kilometers from Poland’s borders with Ukraine or Belarus.
Tensions between Warsaw and the Kremlin increased after Poland seized the building of a secondary school for the children of Russian embassy employees “in accordance with a court decision to transfer to the Polish state the ownership of this building, which the Russian embassy illegally occupied for years.”
Russia later threatened Poland with “severe” reprisals on Saturday.
“Warsaw’s step, which goes beyond the scope of civilized interstate relations, is so daring that it cannot remain without an appropriate reaction for the Polish authorities and interests in Russia. The initiators of such provocative adventures should understand this.” This is stated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
