Caroline Garcia, Madrid’s fifth favorite, was unexpectedly eliminated in the third round of the tournament.

The athlete from Hexagon was defeated by Mayar Sherif (59 WTA) in two sets at the end of the match, which lasted one hour and 42 minutes.

Caroline Garcia initially led in the first act, but her opponent came back and was turned over at one point. At 5-3, Garcia played more aggressively and leveled, but even so he lost the first set on a tiebreak.
