Nikos Michaloliakos, Ilias Kasidiaris and Panagiotis Iliopoulos, who were convicted as members of the leadership group of the Golden Dawn criminal organization, were found not guilty by the 3rd Single Criminal Court on charges of inciting racist violence.
The decision was made with a similar prosecutor’s idea, according to which even if a controversial phrase about “agents” and “Turkish conscience” was said, it does not fall under racist statements because it does not contain phrases that incite violence.
The prosecutor stated that Michaloliakos and Iliopoulos did not participate in the parliamentary committee of which Kasidiaris was a member, in which, according to the prosecution, Kasidiaris heard the controversial phrases and thus directly demanded their release.
“A representative of the Republic of Cyprus participated in this committee. Everything that is said about Turkish agents is not true. I was fined by the ethics committee for running into other MPs and not a specific minority MP. I never talked about ethnic origin or national identity. I only referred to the statements of Recep Tayyip Erdogan,” Ilias Kasidiaris said in an apology.
Panagiotis Iliopoulos said that he was not even present at this committee. Accordingly, this demand was put forward by Nikos Michaloliakos.
The decision was made by the assembled fans of Ilias Kasidiaris with applause.
Ilias Kassidiari’s lawyer Vasso Pantazis said her client’s party has filed an appeal with the Supreme Court against Dimitris Michakis’ Greeks party, which has also filed an appeal against the National Greek Party convicted of the Golden Dawn. The message of Ilias Casidiaris concerns the use of Vergina Sun. The lawyer, in answer to a question, ruled out any collaboration between the party of Kasidiaris and the parties of Mr. Kanelopoulos and Mr. Nikolopoulos.
