The video that appeared on social networks shows a man standing at the intersection of City Park Mall in Constanta and regulating traffic, where the traffic lights have not been working for several days due to construction work.

The Constance County Police Inspectorate reported the image and announced that it would investigate the situation.

“In the municipality of Konstanz, at the intersection of Alexandru Lapushnianu Boulevard and Soveia Street, works are being carried out to reconfigure pedestrian crossings and traffic lights. At the same time, traffic on the site is regulated by policemen or district policemen, and in their absence – by road signs. At the moment, the police officers of the municipal police of the city of Constanta – the traffic bureau are conducting inspections of the reported issues. The police recommend citizens not to take such actions in order not to become victims of traffic accidents,” IPJ Constanţa reported on Wednesday.

Constanta City Hall announced that since the end of last week, the traffic light system at the intersection of Alexandru Lapushnianu Boulevard and Soveia Street has been completely stopped, noting that until the new traffic light system is restarted, traffic will be controlled by the police.

“This measure is necessary because according to the urban mobility project, which involves the modernization of Alexandru Lapushnianu Boulevard, the intersection is changing, and the traffic lights will be moved. At the same time, electrical installations will be replaced, as well as the automatic traffic control system,” explains the City Hall of Constanta.
