
The operation to rescue migrants has been carried out in the Mani region since dawn on Easter Thursday.
According to the Coast Guard, it all happened yesterday Wednesday, shortly before midnight, when a half-submerged sailboat was found on the beach of Arfigia, near Neo Oitilo. Passengers disembarked, and according to Coast Guard officials, there were 47 of them, and there is also one person who died on board, possibly from pathological conditions.
The Coast Guard, fire brigade and police are at the scene and are investigating for the possible discovery of other passengers.
