Helen Mirren And Gillian Anderson joining forces for the film”White Bird: A Wonderful Story“, a spin-off of the film”Be surprised» since 2017.
They starred Bryce Geysar as Julian, who is expelled from school. Soon after, he learns about his grandmother’s (Mirren) experiences in Nazi-occupied France. A few months before the August premiere, production company Lionsgate released a new trailer.
The new clip gives a fresh look at the setting of the 1940s, when Mirren’s character was a young girl. She tells her story to Julian, who will learn a hard lesson through her. A story full of courage.
The official description reads: “From the author of the best-selling Miracle, the next chapter is coming. The story of The White Bird follows Julian as he struggles to find his place after being expelled from school for his behavior towards Auggie Pullman. In an effort to change Julian’s life, his grandmother tells the story of her courage as a youth in Nazi-occupied France. The boy saves her from mortal danger. They fall in love with a wonderful, magical world of their own making, while the boy’s mother (Gillian Anderson) risks everything to keep the girl safe. It’s a touching story about how an act of kindness can earn a living.”
The White Bird is directed by Mark Forster, the cinematographer behind the recent and successful films A Man Called Otto, Quantum of Solace, World War Z and Christopher Robin.
