Schools: Post-Easter Program

The end of classes, the beginning of the Panhellenic exams, the closure of schools: after Easter, the “countdown” begins, as there is about a month left before the first … last bell of the school year.

For the current academic year, milestone dates have already been announced since last September as part of the Ministry of Education’s efforts to better organize the academic and academic year. This new practice was even followed by a corresponding legislative regulation providing for notification of the state examination program by September 15 of each year.

The Ministry of Education’s announced planning will not significantly affect the holding of the national elections, except for the postponement of high school exams one day later. Thus, June 15 is the date when, on the one hand, lessons in kindergartens and elementary schools will end, and on the other hand, exams will be passed in lyceums and senior classes. The Greek exams start on June 1st for EPAL and June 2nd for GEL.

End of course

Specifically, with regard to primary education, the last classes in kindergartens and primary schools will be held on 15 June.

In the senior classes, classes will end on May 30, and exams will be held from June 1 to 15.

In the senior classes, classes will end on May 18 for all three classes. After that, exams for students of the 1st and 2nd schools will be held from May 23 to June 15. Internal examinations for students of the 3rd secondary school will be held before the start of the Panhellenic examinations, from 23 to 30 May.

panhellenic program

Greek exams will be held June 2-12 for GEL (day and evening general secondary schools) and June 1-16 for EPAL (day and evening vocational high schools).

June 8: Latin (Humanities Group), Chemistry (OP of Positive and Health Research), Computer Science (OP of Economics and Computer Science Studies)

As for EPAL, the first day of exams will also cover the general education course, the new Greek language and the other seven (June 3, 7, 9, 10, 13, 15 and 16) special courses.

Exams for special courses will be held from 17 to 29 June. First, on June 17, candidates will be tested in English, and on June 19 in German. After that, the Freestyle and Line Drawing exams will take place (June 20 and 21, respectively).

This will be followed by exams in courses related to admission to music departments: “Harmony” (June 22), “Music Ear Test” (June 23), “Perception and Knowledge of Music” (June 24), “Musical Performance and Interpretation” (26 June). The special course exams will end with French (June 27), Spanish (June 28) and Italian (June 29).
