TVR’s former president-general director Doina Gradea may take the post of the capital’s sub-prefect, according to some political sources from the PSD leadership cited by Libertatea. In February, the former head of public television joined PUSL, a party backed by Dan Voiculescu.

“It’s only a matter of time before Doinea Gradea reaches the capital prefecture. She will be appointed to the post of super-prefect,” a member of the PSD leadership told Libertatea.

At the same time, sources in the party say that this appointment was not discussed with the head of the PSD, Marcel Cholaku.

Information about the appointment of Gradea in the Bucharest prefecture was confirmed by Libertatea MPs who belong to the PUSL but are active in the PSD group in the Chamber of Deputies.

The post of sub-prefect became vacant following the appointment of Diane Artenay as prefect, after Tony Greble, the former head of the prefecture, was elected by parliament as president of the Permanent Electoral Body.

Gradea, who headed TVR from March 2018 to May 2021, is still working at the public broadcaster and declined to comment. He headed TVR at the time Liviu Dragnia was in PSD.

Gradea joined the party supported by Dan Voiculescu

The former TVR PDG joined the Humanist Social Liberal Party, a group founded by Dan Voiculescu, in February. Gradeya was appointed deputy general secretary of the party.

“This is an important step in my life, a new challenge that logically arises after years of work and relevant experience in public service. Romania, its political class needs specialists, professionals who can offer clear solutions and a vision that can only come from people who have proven that they have these skills.

The time of tricksters has passed, I clearly saw that they only know how to use words, promises, and especially scandal. PUSL is a party that offers concrete solutions to the country’s problems and competent people to solve them,” Doina Gradea said, Pagina de Media quoted Gandul as saying.

Gradea was fired in May 2021, and during his term he was at the center of several scandals, one of which was provoked by journalist Dragos Petraru, who published recordings with the head of TVR in which she called the station’s journalists “haters”. The station’s journalist was said , that he has a “pig’s head”.

“When the PNL was in government, they sided with the PNL, when the PD was in government, they sided with the PD. Now that there are, they are looked after. They have hatred, therefore. I’m getting out of some rut, that’s how. Haters by profession. They are not against the party, they are against the profession. And that’s it,” Doin Gradea can be heard on this recording.

Then HotNews.ro exclusively published a recording with Doinea Gradea.
