I know one smart and rich man. I will call him Citizen. To me, Citizen has a bit of scorn disguised as a lot of benevolence; I do not accept his opinion that “Romania became a colony”, and the opinions of a citizen are not subject to discussion, they are the open truth. You either accept them or you’re a fool. I decided to be stupid. A citizen understands this, but I still did not leave my heart. I’m cute, I’m cute, what’s the matter that the head doesn’t help! There are others worse than me.

That millions of old fools regret communism and cling to this “colony” mantra doesn’t surprise me. They are finished people, only death awaits them. Their world was extinguished. All they have left is a hatred of all that is life and a love of themselves in their 50-year-old version. Nothing to do with them.

What about the Citizen? From where and where? A personality like him senselessly sharing the same expired pie? Something didn’t fit here, so I dug.

And here’s what I learned: It’s stupid as night. Citizen and Stupidity are right, from their point of view: Romania is indeed a colony. Of course, in order to understand this strange point of view, I have to add a term that does not exist, so I am now inventing it – following Alexander Kiosev, who launched the concept of “self-colonization”. (which really means something and who has made an academic career) – auto colony. What is a colony? Well, to put it simply, a colony is a country in which others steal. What is a car colony? The country in which we steal. With this simplification, the history of Romania lies at our feet: from a colony in which others stole (Turks, Russians, Austrians), it became (1920–1944) an autocolony from which we stole, then (1944–1964) a colony from which we stole soviets, then autocolony again (1964 – 1989, from which we stole, and then there was a transition period when everyone stole: both us and them. And since 2007, we can say that Romania is a colony from which we can no longer steal who knows what (sinecures, special pensions, loyalty contracts, para-back, etc., but that’s crap compared to the big guns of Nea Nelu’s time), so they’re the only ones left behind.I mean THEM!

“They” is always different depending on who you’re talking to, but I’d say we can agree that “they” is a generic word for a capital letter. For international capital, that is. So: no one steals in Romania anymore, except for this international capital. Who steals? He invests little money, sucks people’s sweat, then takes a lot of money out of the country and hoards it in tax havens. Corto y derecho!

May. I do not know. Only now I understood why the Citizen agrees with the stupidity: well, if others stole here, how can Romania not be a colony? Isn’t it clear that it is? I approve positively: yes! How not to be? When Ceteanuul was raising his capital many years ago, the state had everything and international capital had nothing (from Romania). Now everything is the opposite: international capital has everything that produces money, and the state has kept everything that swallows money for itself. How did international capital achieve such a (not entirely bad) result? Hiring a citizen. Who worked hard, stayed awake at night, strained himself to the point of exhaustion, but succeeded: and thanks to his work, the state was freed from a burden (that it was a burden*, yes!) and could take care of its state work, that is, the welfare of its officials. For his dedicated efforts, international capital rewarded Cetean, and rewarded him very well, oh my! He knew what capital he was paying for, that’s why he is “international”!
