Easter: Traffic ban for trucks over 3.5 tons from today Mon Thursday

In the context of reducing traffic problems, improving traffic and improving road safety, during the Easter period, in addition to traffic relief measures that will be taken locally, a ban on the movement of all light trucks will be introduced. a maximum allowable weight of more than 3.5 tonnes also applies as follows:

  • On the A8 motorway (Athens-Patra) from the Elefsina toll road (example 26+500) to the Rio toll road (example 199+660) in the direction of Patras.
  • On the A1 highway (Athens-Thessaloniki-Evzoni), from the Ag interchange. Stefanou (Krioneri) (XT 27+960) to Bralosa junction (XT 203+065), from Rodica (Lamia) junction (XT 212+625) to Rahon Fthiotida junction (X.Th. 242+479), from Makrichorio Tolls ( X.Th. 374+291) to the Leptokaria junction (X.Th. 410+359) in the direction of Thessaloniki.
  • On the national road Thessaloniki-N. Moudanion, from Thermi bridge to N. Moudanion junction (61.5 km) in the direction of Chalkidiki.
  • Along the A11 highway (Skhimatari – Chalkis), from its intersection with the A1 highway (project 65+820) to the high bridge of Chalkis (project 12+300) in the direction of Chalkida.
  • On the national highway Thessaloniki – Kavala, from km 11 (X.Th. 11+340) to Leo Amfipoli junction (X.Th. 97 + 550) towards Kavala.
  • On the A5 highway (Ionia-Odos) from the Rio-Antririo bridge “Charilaos Trikoupis” (Rio area, PO Box 11+558.47) to the end of Ionia-Odos (PO Box 200+991) in the direction of Ioannina.
  • On the A7 highway (Central Peloponnese), from the Corinthian Expressway (cars 85+300) to the Sparta roundabout (cars 240+800) (Kalamata ring road) in the direction of Kalamata.
  • Take the A71 motorway (Lefktro-Sparti) from the Lefktro motorway (0+000) to the Spartis motorway (PO Box 45+000) in the direction of Sparta.
  • On the national highway Ioannina – Arta – Antirrio in the direction of Antirrio.
  • On the National Highway Thessaloniki-Polygirou (E.O.16), from Thermi Bridge to the border of P.E. Thessaloniki (Agia Anastasia Crossroads) in the direction of Polygyros.
  • On the A8 motorway (Athens-Patras) in the direction of Athens, from the Rio toll road (example 199+660) to the Elefsina toll road (example 26+500) in the direction of Athens.
  • On the A1 motorway (Athens-Thessaloniki-Evzoni), in the direction of Athens, from the Leptokaryas interchange (ext. 410+359) to Makrichori Tolls (ext. 374+291), from the Rahon Fthiotida interchange (ext. Th. 242+479 ) to the Rodica (Lamia) interchange (X.Th. 212+625) and from the Bralos junction (X.Th. 203+065) to Ag. Stefan (Krioneri) (X.Th. 27+960) in the direction of Athens.
  • On the national highway N. Moudanion – Thessaloniki from the N. Moudanion junction (61.5 km) to the Thermi overpass in the direction of Thessaloniki.
  • Along the A11 highway (Schimatari – Chalkis), from the high bridge of Chalkis (ex. 12+300) to its intersection with the A1 highway (ex. 65+820) in the direction of Athens.
  • Via the national highway Kavala – Thessaloniki from Lva Amfipoli junction (PT 97+550) to km 11 (PT 11+340) in the direction of Thessaloniki.
  • On the A5 highway (Ionia-Odos), from the end of Ionia-Odos (PO Box 200+991) to the Rio-Antirio bridge “Charilaos Trikoupis” (Rio-PoA area 1+558.47) in the direction of Rio.
  • From the A7 motorway (Central Peloponnese), from the Spartis roundabout (ext. 240+800) (Kalamata ring road) to the Corinthian expressway (ext. 85+300) in the direction of Athens.
  • From A71 (Lefktro-Sparti), from A/K Spartis (X.TH. 45+000) to A/K Lefktro (0+000) towards Lefktro.
  • On the national highway Ioannina – Arta – Antirrio in the direction of Ioannina.
  • Via the National Highway Thessaloniki-Polygirou (EO16), from the PE border. Thessaloniki (St. Anastasia Crossroads) to Thermi Bridge in the direction of Thessaloniki.
  • On the A8 motorway (Athens-Patras) in the direction of Athens, from the Rio toll road (example 199+660) to the Elefsina toll road (example 26+500) in the direction of Athens.
  • On the A1 motorway (Athens-Thessaloniki-Evzoni), in the direction of Athens, from the Leptokaryas interchange (ext. 410+359) to Makrichori Tolls (ext. 374+291), from the Rahon Fthiotida interchange (ext. Th. 242+479 ) to the Rodica (Lamia) interchange (X.Th. 212+625) and from the Bralos junction (X.Th. 203+065) to Ag. Stefan (Krioneri) (X.Th. 27+960) in the direction of Athens.
  • Vehicles that offer roadside assistance in accordance with Law 3651/2008, ELTA trucks, press distribution trucks, public use (FDX) and private use (FIX) trucks that transport live animals, perishable foodstuffs, and they referred to in the ATP international agreement (Article 3 Chapter II of Joint Ministerial Decision No. 50786/3319/2014 (B’ 2418) if the loading percentage of the above products carried is at least 10% of the payload.
  • Tankers of water transport (water carriers) during their movement to fight forest fires.
  • Trucks (refrigerators) of public (VAT included) and private (VAT included) transporting fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Trucks transporting animal by-products for inactivation in accordance with EU regulation 1069/2009, if they are authorized by the Veterinary Medicine Authority of the respective region and are accompanied by an established commercial document.
  • Trucks of Public Utilities (DEDDIE, ADMIE, OTE, Natural Gas, etc.) when driving to repair accidental damage to their networks and only if there is a written order from the relevant organization.
  • Tanker trucks transporting fuel for refueling fire fighting equipment, if confirmed by relevant documents or documents.
  • Trucks carrying musical and theatrical equipment, as well as trucks used for performances and transporting television and film coverage equipment.
  • Trucks carrying oxygen for medical purposes.
  • DESE work vehicles and trucks used for emergency situations, upon request of the competent civil protection service and with the relevant decision of the competent local traffic authority.
  • Ambulances.
  • Trucks and work vehicles of highway concession companies and their subcontractors to carry out their assigned work smoothly.
  • Trucks of the “Smile of a Child” organization.

It should be noted that the Greek police, in connection with the approaching holiday season, planned to take increased traffic safety measures on the road network throughout the country.
