How they cheated and blackmailed women
As it turned out as a result of the investigation, the attackers initially contacted the victims – users of online social networking platforms through a private message, using a previously hacked profile of a person they knew.
They then gained access to their personal social media accounts:

- sending a deceptive message that they are pictured on a “pink” website, urging them to follow an attached link and enter their personal passwords.

They then instruct the victims to deposit the required amount of money into the digital wallet, usually through a cryptocurrency ATM. If the money didn’t come in, the criminals acted in a vindictive way and shared sensitive personal data with more people.
