“Acquisition of the victims who found the courage to speak up despite their young age” characterizes the criminal prosecution against the founder and former employees of the Ark of Peace, defense lawyers Kostas Cosmatos, Cleo Papapantoleon and Christos Lampakis in their statement.
“The initiation of a criminal case against the main defendant and seven other employees of Kivoto tou Kosmos, based on all the evidence collected during the preliminary investigation, is undoubtedly an important event. On the one hand, this means that the prosecutor, who studied the case materials, considered sufficient evidence for the commission of serious crimes against our principals, apparently assessing their complaints and statements as reliable. On the other hand, this is the first, even at an early stage, justification of our leaders, as well as all the victims who have found the courage to speak out, despite their young age.
We are awaiting the transfer of the case file to a regular criminal investigator and determination of jurisdiction for misdemeanors.
With absolute respect for the confidentiality of the investigative process, as well as the secondary victimization of our principals that took place with the release of the case file, we cannot make any further statements or reports. However, there is no doubt that the fastest possible procedural development and settlement of this particular case will help to limit their trauma and stigmatization.”
