The world record holder in this sport (46.86 seconds) David Popovich stopped the clock on Saturday at 47.61 seconds.
Thus, the athlete registered at CS Dinamo Bucharest received a ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games (the FINA norm was 48.34 seconds).
At the National Swimming Championships in Otopeni this week, David also won gold in the 50m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 50m butterfly (he broke the national record in that event) and 400m freestyle.
